Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain, February 16, 2009 - Perfecto Mobile, a leading provider of remote access and automated testing solutions for mobile devices, today announced that Swisscom, Switzerland's leading telecoms provider, has selected the Perfecto Mobile system. Using the Perfecto Mobile system Swisscom will provide its internal users and partners, including device manufacturers and application developers, located anywhere in the world, with a secure environment where they can test embedded applications on pre-launched Swisscom handsets via the Internet.
The Perfecto Mobile system will help Swisscom ensure the performance of embedded mobile applications on its handsets, and enable the Company to deliver new handsets to market on time. It will also help Swisscom reduce the costs and logistical efforts needed to manage the pre-deployment process.
“We typically have a very tight window to fully test embedded applications on our handsets. Given the logistical efforts needed to coordinate shipments of device prototypes to vendors all around the world, getting the testing done on time is a difficult process,” said Lukas Fluri, Head of Devices at Swisscom. “The Perfecto Mobile system provides Swisscom with the ideal solution to resolve these issues, and it enables us to enhance the depth and breadth of our testing processes. Furthermore, Perfecto Mobile’s ability to support new devices and add additional devices very quickly when needed was a primary reason for selecting this solution.”
The Perfecto Mobile system provides a web-based user-interface through which Swisscom’s internal users and partners can quickly and easily use any handset in the same way a real-life user would, through its keys, touch-screen, or QWERTY keyboard, to validate that the handset and applications work properly. The Perfecto Mobile system also enables users to automate standard testing tasks.
In addition to its powerful remote access capabilities, the Perfecto Mobile system will provide Swisscom with a shared testing environment to facilitate collaboration between testers, developers and device manufacturers. Through the Perfecto Mobile system all users will be able to quickly and easily recreate and share sessions, and collaborate and communicate with each other to resolve problems and avoid the finger pointing that often occurs in distributed environments.
“Perfecto Mobile provides Swisscom and its partners with a unique solution for testing pre-launched devices that no other vendor can match. Using the Perfecto Mobile system Swisscom is no longer limited by the number of device prototypes it has and can centralize its handset testing, thereby saving significant time, money and logistical effort. Most importantly, with the Perfecto Mobile system Swisscom can complete its testing of embedded applications within the tight schedules,” said Eran Yaniv, CEO of Perfecto Mobile.
